Banksy the icon
Banksy is a Bristol-born street artist whose identity remains one of the art world’s greatest mysteries. Since the 1990s, his stencilled works have appeared overnight on walls, bridges and streets across the globe – from London’s East End to the West Bank barrier in Palestine.
A rat holding a paintbrush. A girl releasing a heart-shaped balloon. A soldier spray-painting a peace sign. Simple images. Uncomfortable truths.
His works have sold at auction for millions, been stolen from walls, and debated in parliaments – yet he continues to operate outside every institution that tries to claim him.
“Ode to Banksy” brings together 30 international artists from the UK, the Netherlands and beyond to celebrate this singular voice through 80 original works and tributes – set across the exceptional grounds of Domaine [nom], in the heart of Gascony, South-West France.
Key facts about Banksy:

The “Ode to Banksy” exhibition is a chance to discover our Gascon estate from a whole new angle: where ancient stone meets spray paint, where nature enters into dialogue with the tag.
An invitation to see Domaine du Boulouch differently – and never forget it.
For this exhibition, the curator has brought together 30 artists with varied backgrounds, from France and across Europe, each invited to freely engage with Banksy’s work – his stencil technique, his subjects, his humour, his provocation – and create an entirely original piece.
Among them: painters, sculptors and visual artists such as Anne Bothuon, Béatrice Darmagnac, Christophe Faso, Christophe Salles and Jacques Sierpinski, alongside international contributors including Simon Redington (UK) and Tineke Smith (NL).
A total of 50 works spread across the sweeping grounds of Domaine du Boulouch – a unique open-air artistic trail, where every turn holds a new surprise.
Our restaurant will be open to the public for dinner all 5 evenings of the exhibition, with specially crafted menus created for the occasion by our chef Bastien Boulard.
